latest news about , CMA Awards 2009 Winners: Tonights 2009 Country Music Awards were received by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. The show opened with a performance by Taylor Swift, who was tonights big winner!

Tonight’s CMA highlighted some impressive artists, but not many surprises in the form of prizes won. Tim McGraw took the stage after an absence of four years from the CMA. She sang her current hit single, “Voice of the South”. Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews also gave an outstanding performance of their duet, “I’m Alive”. Others are done Reba, Zac Brown Band, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and more!
One of the first artists, Darius Rucker, gave one of the best performances in my opinion. Rucker sang his hit “That’s Alright” as he made his way through the audience shaking hands, giving high-5 and singing with guests. Darius Rucker was named Best New Artist of the Year.
Taking home the award for Best Group of the Year was Lady Antebellum. Lady A. also won the award for Single of the Year for “I Just Need You Now”
The Vocal Duo of the Year went to Sugarland. What did you think black evening dress Jennifer Nettles’? It looked spectacular!
The Song of the Year went to Jamey Johnson. This was a surprise win for me, but “colored” was a great song – no doubt!
Album of the Year was raised by Mrs. Taylor Swift. Swift performed her single, “15″, surrounded by a group of youngsters who sang along with it.
Musical Event of the Year went to Brad Paisley and Keith Urban for “Start a Band”.
Male Vocalist of the Year was awarded to Brad Paisley. As I said in my predictions, I thought it was time for Brad to win this award and I was right on the money! This only goes to show that hard work pays off!
Taylor Swift was the winner of “Video of the Year for” Love Story “and the female voice of the Year. As the announcement was made, Taylor looked absolutely stunned. His acceptance speech was very humble. She began by saying:” I just of getting a hug from Kris Kristofferson – I’m fine! “He also thanked the audience to remain seated and not jump on stage to interrupt.
