Pink Slips For Congress: latest news about, Voters disillusioned by the health care and other legislative initiatives currently sent 5 million “termination letters” from members of Congress, the conservative website WorldNetDaily, said Tuesday.
Several Republican lawmakers joined WorldNetDaily figures to support the campaign on Tuesday in the Capitol.
“These letters of dismissal is a call for Americans, constitutionally responsible fiscally responsible,” said Iowa representative Steve King.
A sheet of pink is the symbol of a job layoff, an issue not lost on Rep. Trent Franks, Republican of Arizona, who said that members should vote the will of the people or being dismissed at the next election.
Standing before posterboards in which tens of pieces of pink paper has joined, Franks told reporters: “You see a small sample of 5 million letters of dismissal that Americans have sent to Congress.
The Americans, he said, are “people who are telling members of Congress that” we are sick of it all out of control spending, and we will respond and do what we can take our country back. ” ”
Neither the website nor the pink slips to mention political parties as part of the protest campaign. At least one Republican in Tuesday’s event, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, said he was surprised to receive some of the leaves, because it agrees with the points made.
