Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special: latets news updates, Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special, The 450th episode The Simpsons is set to air in the US, capping off a celebration of the show’s 20th anniversary .

After being on the air two decades, the animated hit which has spawned a movie and a devoted global following is marking the event with a special documentary.

The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special! In 3D! On Ice!, which was directed, written and hosted by Supersize Me film maker Morgan Spurlock, will air straight after the anniversary episode.

Spurlock interviews producers, cast members and celebrities, including Sting, Dan Rather, Hugh Hefner, Conan O’Brien, John Waters, South Park’s Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, and Mike Judge of King of the Hill fame as well as fans from around the world who have done outrageous things in honour of their favourite series.

Dissenters are given their say, too. Spurlock talks to an outraged representative of The Catholic League and to residents of Rio de Janeiro, who were offended by The Simpsons’ portrayal of their city – remember the monkey gangs?. He also talks to real-life employees of the nuclear-energy industry, who lament how Homer and Mr Burns have undermined confidence in their line of work.

But is any of The Simpsons’ 20th Anniversary Special In 3D On Ice actually in 3D or on ice? We’ll just have to wait and see.
