Syrtaki, Syrtaki Dance: Sirtaki (Syrtaki) is a popular dance of Greek origin. In fact it was created in 1964 for the film Zorba the mix of slow and fast versions of the dance Hasapiko. The theme of the film Zorba the Greek, written by prominent Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. A distinctive feature of the Sirtaki dance and music is its acceleration, is to start with a very slow pace Hassapiko then increasingly faster and ending in a lively Hassaposerviko.
This dance is choreographed performance with the most popular piece of Greek music in this country.
Syrtaki has been welcomed by the people, and has been included in the repertoire of many popular Greek dance companies, including the Lyceum of Greek Women.
