Peshawar Suicide Blast 23 Killed 30 Injured

PESHAWAR, Pakistan News: A blast ripped through a protest demonstration in Qissa Khawani Bazaar of Peshawar, killing at least 25 people among DSP City Gulfat Hussain and niab ameer of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Peshawar Dost Muhammad and injuring several others.

According to AIG bomb disposal squad Shafqat Malik, this was a suicide blast. Jamat-e-Islami activists, traders and common people were demonstrating against the long unscheduled loadshedding at Chowk Shaheedan of Qissa Khawani Bazaar at that time.
At least 5 cars have been burnt and a number of shops have also been damaged. Rescue teams have shifted the injured to nearby hospitals and Lady Reading Hospital where emergency was declared after the incident. Condition of some of the injured is stated to be critical and casualities may rise. JI’s district ameer Shabbir Ahmed Khan is also among the injured and has been shifted to hospital.
It was the second blast occurred in the city. Earlier in the day, at least two children were killed while nine others including four kids injured in an explosion outside Police Public School in Peshawar.
Angry protesters accuse the government of not providing security and they have broken glasses of car of Provincial Minister Syed Zahir Hussain. Provincial Health Minister Zahir Shah returned back without inquiring about the injured in the hospital.
Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa Bashir Bilour said that protests cannot stop electricity. He said, “We have to avoid taking political advantages.”
CCPO Peshawar Liaquat Ali said that DSP City was the target of the attackers. He told that 6 kg explosive material was used in the blast.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, President Asif Ali Zardari and other political leaders have strongly condemned the heinous incident.
Suicide Blast In Hangu, 10 Killed

At least 10 people were killed and eight others sustained injuries as a suicide blast rocked Tal Bazaar in Hangu, According to sources, a suicide bomber rammed an explosives laden vehicle into a security forces convoy near a petrol pump.

Contradictory reports are being told about the death toll. Commissioner Kohat said that 12 people have been killed in the blast while 10 casualties are confirmed by the hospital sources.
Security forces cordoned off the area after the blast. Injured have been shifted to CMH where condition of some of the victims is stated to be critical.
5 SDead, 30 Injured in Three Explosions Shake Assam India

GUWAHATI: Three blasts rocked Nalbari district in Lower Assam on Sunday morning, in which five persons have reportedly been killed while another 30 have been injured.
The blasts took place at around 10:15 hours (local time) outside a police station in Nalbari district, police said. The bombs were planted on a parked bicycle, a police official added.
Police suspected militants of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) to have carried out the explosions.
Nalbari district is about 70 km west of Assam’s main city of Guwahati.
