Latest News Updated, Syfy Ghost Hunters: Halloween means trick or treating, candy, and costumes for kids and for adults it means plenty of SyFy Ghost Hunters. Luckily for the diehard ghost-seeker and purveyor of all things paranormal, Hulu broadcasts full episodes. Tonight, however, it isn’t full episodes that the hunters are seeking; it’s the live ghost hunt that SyFy is featuring this Halloween.
The live Halloween Ghost Hunters special features an interactive section on the website where viewers can participate and take part in the hunt. There are different camera views as the hunter search through the Essex County Hospital. You may join in and if you believe you see something eerily creepy, you may click on the panic button. The show is completely interactive with the viewers and the team will address users’ panic button alerts. What could be more fun on Halloween night?
The Essex County Hospital is the perfect place to investigate. Located in the Township of Cedar Grove, New Jersey it was built in 1986 and was a psychiatric hospital. Tragedy struck during the winter months of 1917, when the hospital’s boilers failed to work and the patients were without heat for several weeks. After the ordeal, 24 patients had died, many frozen to death, and 32 patients were diagnosed with frostbite. Many believe that the souls of those who died in the Essex County Hospital haunt the building to this day.
Essex, like many other psychiatric hospitals during that time, was prone to overcrowding. Patients were also subjected to procedures, many experimental. It has been estimated that approximately 10,000 people died while in the hospital center. During the 1960’s to 1990’s the hospital’s population declined and the doors were finally closed in 2007. The SyFy Ghost Hunters team has featured Essex County Hospital before, and has determined that the hospital is haunted. Now, with the interactive cameras, you can decide for yourself.

Latest news Updated, Travel Channel, Ghost Adventures Live: Ghost Adventures crew — Zak, Nick and Aaron — will lock themselves into the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV, for the most ambitious paranormal investigation ever attempted. During this 7-hour live event, they will examine the reported hauntings and ghostly activity at this legendary landmark.

Built during the Civil War, the asylum is the second-largest hand-cut stone building in the world. For decades its thick walls housed the insane, the neglected and the unwanted. Violence was a common occurrence and inmates were often subjected to brutal treatment. Shut down permanently in 1994, this massive edifice has remained vacant ever since.
Ghost Adventures will have unprecedented access to the entire asylum — from the seclusion cells, where the most violent patients were shackled, to the medical center, where primitive procedures and autopsies were performed.
To aid in their investigation, Ghost Adventures will interview local witnesses, call on paranormal guest experts and utilize the latest in detection technology. Specialized teams will also be available on-site to research and review evidence as it’s collected.
This event will be completely interactive. While watching the drama unfold on TV, viewers will have complete access to the investigation online through the webcams, live video chat and text messaging.
