Durbin’s assessment was made to a handful of reporters following the announcement by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that after weeks of talks with his colleagues he had determined that including a public option that states could opt out of was the best way to go.
For many years, it’s been centrist and conservative-leaning senators who have

Riley Fox
In the summer of 2004, a little girl named Riley Fox was abducted and murdered in the small town of Wilmington, Ill., about 60 miles southwest of Chicago. It was a gruesome crime that rocked the Rust Belt community and remains a mystery to this day.
But more than just a tragedy and a whodunit, the Riley Fox case is the story of her family’s strange, overwhelming ordeal — a nightmare in which Riley’s death was only the first excruciating episode.
On the morning of June 6, 2004, Kevin Fox was home alone with his two children, 3-year-old daughter Riley and son Tyler, 6. His wife Melissa was away that weekend for a walk to raise breast cancer awareness in Chicago.
Just before 8 a.m., Tyler woke Kevin and told him that Riley was gone. Kevin began searching for her himself, but after 40 minutes with no luck he called the police.
By the time Melissa found out and rushed home from Chicago, nearly the entire town was helping search for the little girl. The turnout was a testament to just how close the community is.
“Everybody was so supportive. I mean, I still, I can’t thank everyone enough … It was really unbelievable,” Melissa said.
Kevin and Melissa Fox grew up in Wilmington and were high-school sweethearts. Kevin, a painter, doted on his precious daughter, saying she had “big brown eyes, the way she would look at you, and her smile. She just made your heart melt.”

Bo Jackson Elite Sports Complex
Bo Jackson is one of the most recognizable figures of the late 1980s, and truly one of the greatest athletes who ever lived. While he never achieved more than a couple All-Star apperances in terms of accolades, the mere fact that he had enough talent to compete at a high level in two professional sports simultaneously remains one of the rarest feats in the history of athletics.
Now, Jackson is attempting to expand his athletic knowledge and experience to younger aspiring athletes. Along with Jon Cangelosi, owner of Cangelosi Baseball training facility in Lockport, Ill., he founded the Bo Jackson Elite Sports Complex, also in Lockport.
ProLebrity details the many features of the state-of-the-art baseball training facility, where players can train all year round.
The Major League-size field offers comprehensive training, tournaments, leagues and camps, and live video analysis. The facility also offers strength training, a player’s lounge and a multi-purpose classroom. It is meant for players of all ages and experiences.

LODGING ADDED AT FARMLINKS:
There has a been a lot going on lately at FarmLinks.
The world’s only research and development golf course, located near Sylacauga, has built three cottages and four cabins for guests when they stay overnight and play.
Two of the cottages, named after noted course designers Alister McKenzie and Donald Ross, can be found to the right of the 18th fairway.
Each features four bedrooms, with two beds in each bedroom, and a large common area containing a full kitchen and dining area, plus a fireplace and living area.
The four cabins and other cottage are next to the 11th fairway. The only difference between a cottage and a cabin is that the cabins have a smaller common area and a kitchenette.
These five have been built in a semicircle around a short-game area.
Combined with the existing Parker Lodge that overlooks the 17th green, Hamilton Place and another guest house, the course now has a total of 79 beds on property.
Each room comes with its very own Club Car golf car. So once you park your car upon arrival, you need not use it again until you leave.
When David Pursell and his father, Jimmy, sold Pursell Technologies Inc. to Canadian conglomerate Agrium a couple of years ago their onsite corporate headquarters was part of the deal. Thus, the Pursells and their team needed somewhere to conduct day-to-day operations. So they built a new HQ and adjacent educational pavilion named the Solutions Center. These can be seen from multiple holes including Nos. 4, 11 and 12.
Designed with a barn motif in keeping with the farm atmosphere seen throughout FarmLinks, both buildings were finished late last year. Both buildings, though rustic on the outside, are very high tech on the inside.
Also, the existing clubhouse has been significantly expanded and now has more room for more people to enjoy lunch.
David Pursell talked of other plans in the works including a five-stand sporting clays range and quail and dove shoots, as well as bass and bream fishing. Their first dove hunt is scheduled for Sept. 11-12.
