37th American Music Awards
‘King of Pop’ bagged four awards at the award ceremony last night but stopped short of beating Swift, who turned out to be the top winner by collecting five trophies, including Artist of the Year at the 37th American Music Awards. The late singer won in the Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B and Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock categories among his four wins, reports said. Jackson’s awards were accepted by brother Jermaine, who said that his brother’s message was just as important as his music.

“The message that Michael had will live on forever. He saw good in everyone and he wanted everyone to do good. He always started with love,” said Jermaine. However, the main highlight of the evening was a series of jaw-dropping performances from some of the biggest names in the business. During the three-hour live show at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Eminem, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, Shakira, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Lopez, Green Day and Adam Lambert all took the stage. True to her reputation, Lady Gaga delivered an eye-popping performance on her new single Bad Romance. She matched a flesh-colored bodysuit with flashing white accessories that mimicked a rib cage. She then picked up her mic stand and smashed open a glass enclosure housing a piano. She climbed up, sat down and played Speechless while flames enveloped the wooden instrument. Whitney Houston was honored with the International Artist of the Year award, joining only six other winners such as Michael Jackson in the history of the AMAs. She also performed on I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.

American Idol star Adam Lambert closed the show with a provocative version of his single, For Your Entertainment. The awards were presented by Kristen Bell, Alex Rodriguez, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Kris Allen, Ne-Yo, Perez Hilton, Drake, Kid Cudi, Samuel L Jackson, Leona Lewis, Seth Greene and Ryan Seacrest. The Awards honor the year’s top-selling artists in eight popular genres. Singer Jennifer Lopez performed onstage.

Taylor Swift Wins 5 American Music Awards: LOS ANGELES, Taylor Swift Wins 5 American Music Awards, Country crossover star Taylor Swift overshadowed the late Michael Jackson at the American Music Awards on Sunday, winning five prizes including artist of the year.
Taylor Swift Wins 5 American Music AwardsJackson, who had been expected to enjoy a clean sweep, ended up with four awards. He and Swift went head-to-head in the artist of the year race, the ceremony’s final prize.

Other multiple winners included hip-hop acts Jay-Z and the Black Eyed Peas, with two each.

Swift, 19, was also named favorite female artist in the pop/rock and country categories, and favorite adult-contemporary artist. Her 2008 album “Fearless,” the best-selling release in the United States this year, was named favorite country album.

She accepted her awards live via satellite from backstage at London’s Wembley Arena, where she will perform a concert on Monday.

“Music has never been ultimately about competition,” Swift said, after winning the artist of the year prize. She said it was an “unimaginable honor” to be cited in the same category as Jackson, and thanked the Jackson family.

Jackson was named favorite male artist in the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories, while his 2003 hits collection “Number Ones” was named favorite album in both those categories. The album is the No. 2 seller this year in the United States.

His brother Jermaine, accompanied by sons Jeremy, Jaafar and Jermajesty, accepted on his behalf. At one point, he thanked Allah “for blessing my entire family.”

Rapper Eminem, making a rare awards-show appearance in the wake of his four nominations, went home empty-handed. Glam-pop singer Lady Gaga, rock band Kings of Leon and jailed rapper T.I., who earned three nominations each, were also snubbed.

The Black Eyed Peas were named favorite group in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. Jay-Z won favorite male artist and favorite album in the rap/hip-hop categories. His wife Beyonce, who was performing a show in Dublin, was named favorite female artist in the soul/R&B category.

Punk rock trio Green Day won the favorite alternative artist. Rascal Flatts won favorite country group for the fourth year in a row.

The performance-heavy show included some notable scenes. Openly gay “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert kissed a keyboardist of indeterminate gender and rubbed a male dancer’s face in his crotch. Jennifer Lopez, meanwhile, landed on her bottom after jumping off the arched back of one of her dancers.

Nominees are determined by radio airplay and retail sales, while members of the public determine the winners through online voting. That’s why Jackson got so many nominations, even though he didn’t release any new material.

Ufc 106 Results, Ufc 106 Live Stream Free: latest news aboout, In a rematch of their memorable 2006 fight in Anaheim, former UFC light-heavyweight champions Tito Ortiz of Huntington Beach and Forrest Griffin of Las Vegas renewed acquaintances in Ortiz’s UFC comeback fight following a contract split last year.
Ufc 106 Results, Ufc 106 Live Stream FreeGriffin dominated the third and final round, blitzing Ortiz with hard rights to the face and combinations that included hard shots to the body and tough kicks to the left leg. Ortiz was cut under the left eye in the round and sustained some good combinations.

The judges saw it like this: split-decision win for Griffin.

Ortiz, as usual, had a memorable ring entrance with Eminem blaring at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, waving the American flag.

First round:

Ortiz takes a right standing up, but charges and lands a right. Ortiz takes down Griffin and tries to ground and pound with some elbows flying. Griffin gets up, the pair end up reversing each other against the cage.

Griffin kicks Ortiz in the left leg, like he did against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Griffin hits Ortiz with a right-left combo punch to face. Ortiz misses a takedown. Both guys jab.

I give the round to Griffin.

Second round:

Ortiz takes down Griffin, smacks him with elbows. Griffin gets back up. Griffin kicks Ortiz in the mouth, knocking out Tito’s mouthpiece. Tito takes down Griffin again, Griffin playing defense on ground versus former CIF champion wrestler.

Ortiz sends some elbows and fists to Griffin’s face on the mat. Griffin’s cut under the left eye, and now has a nasty cut at the right eye. Gushing everywhere. Griffin reverses Ortiz, trying to win round. Some pushing post-bell.

I give the round to Ortiz.

The co-main event, a welterweight clash pitting San Jose fighters Anthony Johnson and Josh Koscheck, will put the winner in prime position for a title shot at champion Georges St-Pierre.

Koscheck initially got the better of stand-up striking exchanges before Johnson popped in two jabs. Johnson slipped a clench, but then committed a rule-breaking violation by sending a right knee toward Koscheck’s head.

Kneeing on the mat, Koscheck appeared to have got his arm up in time to deflect the blow toward his right eye. Referee Mario Yamasaki stopped the action and deducted a point from Johnson for the illegal knee. A ringside doctor was summoned and reported to the ref that Koscheck had “blurry vision as a result of the foul.”

Still, the fight resumed and Koscheck turned to wrestling. Johnson was seen with a small cut over the left eye.

In the second round, Johnson was poked in the left eye twice in the first minutes. Both fighters had a lively exchange of blows in the center of the octagon. Koscheck got Johnson on his back and sent a few damaging elbows to the 25-year-old’s head.

Byron Scott

Byron Scottlatest news about, Byron Scott was fired last May instead of today, I would probably be in a better financial position, as Scott would have been requested by at least a few teams, Sacramento and Minnesota, among them. As it is, Scott has signed a contract for the 2010-11 season … and has few decent concert.

It’s not Sacramento or Minnesota are glamorous jobs, but they were rebuilding the team with low expectations, as the Hornets were when Scott came to New Orleans. This summer? I imagine the work will be available networks, but the bridge has been out of the ashes of the ages. The Pacers and Grizzlies are the other most likely openings, except surprise retirement Jerry Sloan, Don Nelson and Larry Brown.

But there’s a Scott’s work has always been linked to that might also be available and becomes quite luxurious: the one currently occupied by Phil Jackson.

That work now enters the scene Lakers as the best prospect of Scott at this time. A year ago, Scott told the Los Angeles Times, says the organization of the Lakers in the utmost regard, and plans to head to the selection “often”. While Jackson appeared at the same time the groom’s house assistants Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw, Scott would certainly be a first class candidate from outside, if Phil will retire.

And now, one obstacle has been reduced: Scott does not have another great option, not a paid job. Jackson is in the way of Sloan, to judge whether it can handle another day of grinding on the fly. He paid $ 12 million this season, and has spoken to wrap his career. After winning his 10th title – and passing Red Auerbach on the list of championship coaches – seem to offer some kind of long to stay.

Of course, Rambis thought enough of the continual passion or Jackson for training or the love of the Shaw organization (or some combination thereof) to take their chances in Minneapolis. I suppose in the next nine months we will see how that fits into the equation Scott, and whether Shaw should be the next head coaching job that has offered.

2012 Movie Review

latest news about, 2012 Movie Review: According to ancient prophecies, when the planets align perfectly on 21 December 2012, the world will end. In 2009, (now Gee) scientist Adrian Helmsley (a pious Chiwetel Ejiofor) discovers the earth’s crust is heating up thanks to recent solar flare activity and the end of the world is coming.
2012 Movie ReviewSo when he goes to the President of the USA A Glover (Danny) to transmit information, plans to begin by the end of the world. However, what plans does not necessarily allow the survival of scale of the human race.

Throw into this mix, Curtis Jackson of John Cusack, separated from his wife Kate (Amanda Peet) and 2 children (if the uber-dolls, along with a stepfather is here and ready for the Apocalypse) who always suspected the past few days is on its way.

On a camping trip with their children in Yellowstone, Jackson is mad old Charlie Frost (wild action Woody Harrelson) knows about the conspiracy behind the end of days – and, more importantly, how to get through it.

So, when the increase in the intensity of earthquakes, nuclear family does what it has to survive as Jackson does his best to save the day.

But when nature unleashes the worst, the human race can do ….

What can you say about 2012, the latest disaster movie about a man who blew up the White House when the aliens attacked on Independence Day?

Check your brain at the door and you quite enjoy it – they are all prerequisites for any disaster movie, terribly cliched ONE LINERS, check; major landmarks are destroyed, and; family in danger – of nature and the new love ya; evil government conspiracies and the Russians who are nasty last-minute redemption and, massive explosions, and, many improbable escapes and control; bloated runtime, check they’re all here for you to enjoy over 150 minutes.

And yet, for some time in 2012, there are some moments that rise above the usual mess, USA Pap promotion. There is an apparent dark conspiracy (although the reference of Princess Diana is terribly wrong), that runs through and there are moral questions about whether they are in power have the right to make all the decisions to prolong the species instead of saving all, but unfortunately, these are slightly higher than milked by repetitive speeches made by the Eijofor’s moral character. There are times when you are irritated some – the farewell saccharin some family members come to do over the phone, the representation of the Queen with her corgis ….

John Cusack emerges with his credibility intact at the end of this – the material is fairly predictable, but once again with his charisma still fresh of the old school is through – even though everything is falling apart at its around.
