Shahid Kapoor , Kareena Friends Again

MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had hugged and patched up, even Kareena ended her cold war with Aishwarya – it all happened at Karan Johar’s birthday party last year. And Karan is now taking his gift of playing Bollywood peacemaker to the next level.

Last week he played the catalyst, making Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor not only acknowledge each other’s presence but actually strike up a conversation, and a pretty warm one at that.

The venue for this patch up was Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat, where King Khan had hosted a celebration for My Name Is Khan.

Says a source, “Shahid and Kareena came face to face and everyone thought they would simply ignore each other like they have on so many occasions in the past. But this time, Karan happened to be present right there and instead of marching past each other, they slowed down for a bit. And the rest, as they say, is history.”

Even after the ice was broken, neither Shahid or Kareena seemed in a rush to get back to more comfortable company. They had a pretty warm exchange and a little later even Saif, who was present at the party, joined them.

“Shahid and Kareena have finally decided to leave their acrimonious past behind them. This was very evident in the manner all three of them – Shahid, Kareena and Saif – interacted with each other at Shah Rukh’s party,” adds our source.

While both Shahid and Kareena could not be reached for comment, Kareena’s official spokesperson said, “Kareena has no problem with anybody, including Shahid.” For the record, Shahid and Kareena, who were in a serious relationship for three years, parted ways in 2007, a few days before Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met hit the theatres.

Animated Kareena in Shahrukh Film

MUMBAI News: Shahrukh Khan has signed Kareena Kapoor for his first ever superhero film ‘Ra. 1’ and now reports reveal that the movie will also have an animated version of her.

Yes, sassy Bebo that too animated. Sounds amazing! This is going to happen for the first time that a Bollywood actress will get an animated avatar. So it has to be seen how she looks in her new computer-designed character.

As a source tells about this to daily, “Shahrukh plays a video-game designer in the film. He’s obsessed with their animated characters. When he falls in love with Kareena, he imagines her as one of the characters.”

Last seen in a virtual version was Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie in the animated movie Beowulf, and that created quite a stir because she appeared naked in the film.

Kareena Kapoor Gets Animated

MUMBAI News: Kareena Kapoor Gets Animated, She’s the size zero babe of bollywood. Known for her curves and hot-affairs, Kareena Kapoor will be seen in a new avatar in the film RA-ONE starring Shahrukh in the lead.

Buzz is that Kareena Kapoor will be seen in an animated avatar in the film. This will be for the first time that Kareena Kapoor will don an animated look in any film. Earlier, Bebo had lent her voice to the animated characters in the film ROADSIDE ROMEO.

The film RA-ONE will be directed by filmmaker Anubhav Sinha and the high end animated effects will be the courtesy of SRK’s production house Red Chillies SFX.

Kareena Kapoor: Aamir is God

Kareena Kapoor has a lot to celebrate. Her film 3 Idiots is a runaway hit. And Kareena decided to run away to Delhi to be with her sister Karisma for New Year.

Sounding more relaxed than she did recently Kareena took time off from the very special family gathering to speak. “I’ve been running around frantically promoting my film. And then I was ailing for a week. I decided I had to be well for the festive season. Christmas was a very, very special occasion for my mom and sister. But we never get to be together for the occasion. This time I was adamant. I made sure I took time off from work so all us girls could spend time together. My mom and I were here in Delhi to spend time with my sister and niece.”

Laughs Kareena, “Karisma and I don’t get to spend that much time together. She has her home and husband in Delhi. My career takes me all over the place. Mom cribs we’re never together. This year-end reunion was something we had promised ourselves from long before.”

In Delhi, Kareena is overwhelmed by the response to her new film. “Everywhere I go I am swamped by compliments for the role. The length of the role didn’t matter. I’m just glad to be part of a historic happening. When Raj Kumar Hirani and Aamir asked me to be part of their film I jumped at it. I knew the film would be special because of Raju and Aamir, and I was right. As far as our cinema is concerned, Aamir is God.”

Reacting to the opinion that Kareena hardly has anything to do in her new film Kareena says, “Who says I’ve nothing to do? I’m very part of the main drama. Would the story move forward if you remove my character?”

Kareena is specially pleased by the compliments she has received for her pairing with Aamir. “Everyone in one voice thinks we look good together. I think Aamir and I make a fantastic pair. I’d love to do another film with him immediately, this time I don’t want share him with other pivotal characters.”

In fact, talks are on with two leading filmmakers including Mani Ratnam who is apparently all set to revive his Aamir-Kareena project Lajjo. A R Rahman and Gulzar have even recorded the songs.

Looking back on the year, Kareena feels happy by the response to her performances in Kurbaan and 3 Idiots. “Both films are very precious to me. Kurbaan was intense, 3 Idiots was more fun. In 2010, I did films with all the Khans … Salman, Aamir, Shah Rukh (I had a song with him in Billu) and of course Saif.”

Kurbaan Pays Attention to Global Terrorism

MUMBAI: After delivering two back to back hits in the form of light-hearted comedies Dostana and Wake Up Sid, producer Karan Johar is set to showcase global terrorism in his forthcoming film Kurbaan, which is releasing Friday.

Distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, the thriller is the directorial debut of Rensil D’Silva and stars Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles. Om Puri, Kirron Kher and Dia Mirza also feature in it.

“Kurbaan has a deep-rooted love story to it, but it is not a frothy romantic film that we are time and again exposed to. The love story is much deeper here. There is a definite meaning, purpose and reason to it. Also, the film is quite powerful in its own way since it’s the voice of moderate Islam,” Kareena had told.

Shot in Philadelphia and Brooklyn, it is about Avantika Ahuja (Kareena) who lives in the US and returns to Delhi after her father has a cardiac arrest. While in Delhi, she meets Ehsaan Khan (Saif), a professor whom she marries and returns to the US with.

But soon Avantika realises that she is a pawn in Ehsaan’s game as he turns out to be a terrorist who marries her in order to cover his identity. Avantika is kept under house arrest where she also finds out that Ehsaan plans to hijack a flight. One of the passengers on that flight is Riyaaz (Vivek), a journalist.

Shooting for the movie didn’t come easy for the actors courtesy sub-zero temperatures in the US.

“Kurbaan was hard work. In fact, the Philadelphia schedule was plain hell. It gets dark there at 4 p.m. Moreover, it’s so cold and at minus 10 degrees it can actually get really depressing. Since we were shooting in sync sound, it was extremely difficult to get the pitch and tone right while delivering our dialogues,” said Saif.

The actors had to wear layers of clothing to protect themselves from the Philadelphia cold but for continuity’s sake, they also had to wear the same clothes in the summer of Mumbai, after the US shoot was over.

Kurbaan has generated considerable buzz but it had its share of controversies too thanks to the secrecy about its title while it was being filmed and then Kareena’s backless shot being used for the publicity posters of the movie.

Kareena Kapoor Like To Red Wine

MUMBAI: Kareena Kapoor plays a tormented girlfriend in Kurbaan opposite her real life beau Saif Ali Khan, who plays a terrorist. “I was really confident of the script this time. Earlier, I have done films just for relationships, like I did Main Aur Mrs Khanna because my sister pushed me,” Kareena said with a smile.

In spite of her last film being a dud at the box office, Kareena is pretty pleased with her decision.

“Come on, it is just another film. If me signing a film makes someone happy, I would still do it. Thinking that if the film will be a flop or hit is passé now.”

Kareena’s heart has always ruled her decisions. Does that mean having Saif with her in the film helped her give the nod to Karan Johar?

“Kurbaan was something I would have done even if Saif was not a part of the film, and I am sure it’s the same for him too. It is a real and gritty film. It is one of my best roles, if not as good as Jab We Met,” she said.

She added, “I can never plot and plan my career or my life. I have always been spontaneous in all my decisions and it has ultimately paid off. It has helped me make some great decisions. I live life on my own terms and it has helped me be a better human being and make some great decisions.

“There is this fire in me, which will always be there. The passion for my work and my loved ones will continue burning.”

Talking about her lovemaking scene with Saif in Kurbaan, Kareena said, “It is a part of the film. When you watch it,

you will know this. It doesn’t stand out.”

Kareena said it is her emotional self that might have helped her play the various characters well. “I am sensitive and emotional but not foolish. I have learnt over the years, and have matured a lot. I know who is out to take advantage and who’s not. I am like red wine, which gets mature with time. As I grow older I will be more mature and a better human being, just watch out,” she says. “In fact, Saif will also grow mature with age,” she says as an afterthought.

Aamir-Bebo get wet and wild

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor will be seen getting hot and wild in their upcoming flick 3 Idiots.

Kareena Kapoor, who is acting opposite Aamir Khan for the first time is in dilemma about promoting her both movies Kurbaan and 3 Idiots.

Bebo says, “Both Saif and Aamir are very dear to me. I think I’ve created magic with both co-stars and it is impossible for me to choose one over the other.”

Aamir who also romanced Bebo’s elder sister Karishma Kapoor,says, “Kareena is one of the most beautiful actresses that we have today. She is also a very good friend and we have both worked very hard on this rain song. I hope people like it.”

3 Idiots will be hitting the theaters on 25th December.

Kajol-Kareena rock together

While people expected sparks when Kareena Kapoor and Kajol started shooting for Karan’s upcoming movie which is a remake of Stepmom, both the actresses have done the opposite.

Kajol-Bebo bond like best buddies on the sets and are always chatting and giggling amongst themselves.

Kareena says, “I look up to Kajol, as she is one of the finest actresses we have today. I totally love her and we get along like a house on fire. Karan is a dear friend of both of us, and we all belong to the same click, so there’s only great vibes and friendship on the sets.”
