Kandi who lost her boy friend last month in a brawl seems to be coming out of mourning.

She is maximizing her stint as a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member, bringing renewed attention to her abilities as a songwriter with her work on the “Tardy For The Party” song for cast member Kim Zolciak who is just a little challenged as a vocalist.

Burruss is also expanding her business opportunities by opening a clothing boutique in metro Atlanta with friend Peaches Chin who will run the boutique on a day to day basis.

The store called Tags, will focus on affordable men’s and women’s clothing. The Atlanta Journal Constitution provides additional details on Burruss’ business venture.

Here’s wishing her well as she’s opening the store during a challenging economic climate, but by marketing affordable clothing she’s at least giving the store a chance to succeed.

Thirty two year old Kandi Burrussis a multifaceted personality. She is known to be R&B singer, songwriter, record producer and television personality, best known as a former member of the group Xscape from Atlanta.

In early 2006, Kandi began work on her sophomore album. The first single “I Need” was a promotional single only. It featured rap duo 8Ball and MJG. Another song, “Keep It Gangsta” featuring rapper Lil Scrappy, was also set to appear on the album, although it was never released as a promo single.
Failing to generate any buzz, plans for the new album were temporarily put on hold. Burruss then teamed with Atlanta female rapper Rasheeda to form the duo Peach Candy, signed to D-Lo Entertainment. Their first single, entitled “Bam,” got little airplay and plans for this album were also put on hold. PeachCandy EP was released on iTunes with a 5-track lineup.

In 2009, Kandi joined the second season of the Bravo reality series, The Real Housewives of Atlanta and went back to work on her sophomore album, entitled B.L.O.G..

Kandi Burruss Fiance Funeral, Ashley Jewell Funeral

ATLANTA —The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast gathered in Georgia today for A.J. Jewell’s funeral.
Jewell, the ex-fiance of housewife Kandi Burruss, died last Friday from severe head injuries suffered in a fight at the Body Tap Club in Atlanta. Police later arrested Fredrick Richardson, who allegedly got into a one-on-one fight with Jewell in the club’s parking lot. Richardson, who was a fellow employee at the strip joint, was charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Members of the “Housewives” cast have been Tweeting about the funeral since yesterday.

“Tomorrow is gonna b hard,” Burruss Tweeted Thursday night.  “Thanks for the prayers. you all have been lifting my spirits daily… He will truly be missed!”

“Tonight and tomorrow is NOT going to be easy,” wrote Kim Zolciak. “Please keep Kandi in your prayers. Thank you guys so much.”

“While flying this morning, I was thinking life!, posted NeNe Leakes, who later added, “Sad sad day.”

Lisa Wu-Hartwell wrote: “Headed to AJ’s funeral. Rip AJ. He will be missed.”

“2days AJ’s funeral serv let’s keep Kandi & AJ’s family n our prayers and pray that they b strong during this difficult x,” posted Sheree Whitfield.

Real Housewives Of Atlanta cast member Kim Zolciak reacted to the death of co-star Kandi Burruss’s fiancé Ashley Jewell.

Local law enforcement officials have said that Jewell died from head injuries, following a fight in the parking lot of strip club Body Tap on Friday night, while Fredrick Richardson was later taken into custody.

Burruss replaced DeShawn Snow, while she bonded with Zolciak during recording of the single ‘Tardy For The Party’.

Zolciak told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she was “disgusted” that someone had taken Jewell’s life and that her “prayers” were with Burruss.

Kim Zolciak, one of the stars of Bravo’s reality TV series The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is continuing to aim for a career in music, and now it seems the network is throwing some weight behind the effort. Bravo has released a music video to accompany Zolciak’s song “Tardy for the Party.” The single was released to iTunes September 1, 2009. It has charted as a dance track, but it’s not yet broken out as a pop hit. Once you listen to the “anthem,” it may not be a big surprise to you that it’s not challenging Miley Cyrus for #1, but the tune is certainly catchy.
On her blog for Bravo, Kim Zolciak shared her inspiration for “Tardy for the Party.” She says, “The inspiration behind ‘Tardy for the Party’ was first and foremost my daughter Brielle. She co-wrote the original lyrics when she was nine years old. The song was fun and catchy.” Originally this was a country song, but Kim Zolciak has been working in the studio with her friend, producer and singer-songwriter Kandi Burruss formerly of the R&B girl group Xscape, to put together a full-length album, and apparently it was Burruss’ idea to turn “Tardy for the Party” into a pop-dance track.

Stranger things have happened than a song like “Tardy for the Party” climbing the pop charts. The video adds a new dimension even if it is just a compilation of scenes from the Real Housewives show. It may not be anywhere close to high art, but I forgive you if Kim Zolciak’s creation is one of your guilty pleasures. It’s becoming one of mine. Let’s check out that video one more time.

This week, I heard a painful song by “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta” star, Kim Zolciak, titled “Don’t Be Tardy For The Party” and I must state, it is cringe inducing.
When the baritone track came on, it made my eyelashes stand up in fright, which I didn’t know was possible (joking). However, the song proves, it’s who you know and not what you know that counts in Hollywood.
