Taylor Swifts Music Video
Taylor Swift, the recent Best Female Video award winner at the MTV Video Music Awards, has set a Guinness World Record.

Taylor has now entered the Guinness Book of World Records and set a new record for Most Entries In The US Top 20 In A Year By A Solo Artist.
The star has been in the press a lot recently after rapper Kanye West stole the mic from her acceptance speech at the VMAs, saying: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time.”
The country singer’s album Fearless, which includes Taylor’s six top 20 singles from the past year, including You Belong with Me, has enabled the 19-year-old to enter the famous record book.
The Guinness Book of World Records will be out this Thursday. The current issue also features Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson who are named as the highest grossing lead actors of the decade.
Obama Calls Kanye A Jackass
President Barack Obama called hip-hop musician Kanye West a “jackass” on Monday in an off-the-record comment during an interview with CNBC, an ABC News anchor reported on Twitter.

Obama was apparently weighing in on an interruption that occurred the night before during the MTV Video Music Awards where West grabbed the microphone from teen country singer Taylor Swift during her award acceptance speech to announce his belief that Beyonce had a better music video.
“Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential,” “Nightline” co-anchor Terry Moran wrote Monday evening to his more than 1 million followers.
The tweet forced the network to issue an apology after the Internet quickly became abuzz over the stunning remark published on the microblogging site.
An ABC spokesperson said, “In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview,” Politico reported. “This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”
Moran’s tweet has since been deleted, but can still be accessed.
West, who is no stranger to controversy, apologized for the incident after Sunday night’s MTV broadcast and again Monday night during an interview on the premiere of NBC’s “Jay Leno Show.”
West told Leno he’s going to take some time off to reflect and that “it was rude, period.”
“I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve. If there’s anything I could do to help Taylor in the future or help anyone, I’d like to,” he said.
The White House had no immediate comment on the matter, Politico reported.
Single Ladies Video
Every day (we hope) The Oregonian Music Blog will post a song of the day for you to enjoy. It might be a new song or just be an excuse to geek out over our favorite bands. But it will always be worth a listen. Let us know what you think of the song in the comments at the bottom. And check out past Songs of the Day.
So, did you watch the big MTV Video Music Awards last night? Me neither.
I figured that if anything happened, the Internet would tell me about it afterward. Sure enough …
If you haven’t heard yet, here’s the bullet points:
Pop-country singer Taylor Swift wins Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me” and as she starts her acceptance speech, Kanye West pops up, grabs the mic and declares that fellow nominee Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” is one of the greatest videos of all time.
Kanye leaves to boos and a flustered Swift just plain leaves the stage.
Later, when Beyonce wins Video of the Year for “Single Ladies” she brings Swift out to share the stage and get a do-over on her speech.
Pretty easy to pick the night’s winners and losers. Besides, Kanye should know there’s only one awards-show-bum-rush champion. (Hint: He’s for the children.)
But because it’s fun to debate, which video do you think is better? The stylized dance routine of “Single Ladies” or the teen fantasy of “You Belong With Me”? My vote goes to Beyonce — which is why it’s the Song of the Day — because of the clip’s artistry. Also, as a proud glasses wearer, I can’t excuse the tired “take off the glasses and suddenly you’re pretty” cliche in Swift’s video.

MTV Awards Kanye West
Kanye West might have outdone himself last night. The vile rapper interrupted country singer Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech and told her the award should have gone to someone else:
US rapper Kanye West stole the show for the wrong reasons at the MTV Video Music Awards last night when he invaded the stage and interrupted a winner to say that the award should have gone elsewhere.
West grabbed the microphone as Taylor Swift, a teenage country singer, was part way through her acceptance speech for the prize – known as a Moonman – for best female video.
“I always wondered what it would be like to maybe win one of these someday, but never actually thought it would happen,” Swift had begun to say, when West snatched the microphone from her hand.
“Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” said West, who had been spotted earlier swigging alcohol on the red carpet. A humiliated Swift did not finish her speech, the crowd began to boo, and Beyonce looked shocked but continued to smile.
