latets news about, Demi Moore Photoshop Controversy, Demi Moore Photoshop: Being an observer (and occasional shooter) of all things fashion, I was just was looking at December’s “W” cover [above and left] with Demi Moore.

In the interview she says she’d rather be a “puma” than a “cougar” – but apparently, the clumsy Photoshop artist decided she was looking too strong in the cover shots – and awkwardly chopped off part of her left thigh. Note how the upper part of her left thigh/hip is basically missing (our right). Did she have some sort of weird car accident that left a wedge of meat missing from it? The fabric even magically floats above the missing thigh. Ha!

Hard to believe that made it to the cover.

I feel about this the same way I did about the Ralph Lauren model. I don’t buy (in the high fashion context, anyway) that there’s necessarily too much “Photoshopping”, or too much of a drive toward uber-skinny (which really seems to be a complex thumbing-of-the-collective nose at western indulgence by the fashion industry – another conversation entirely) but simply that it’s bad art (in the sense such mistakes clearly interfere with the photographers goal – let’s call it “aesthetus interruptus”).

When I look at it I can’t appreciate it because I feel like there’s a piece of dirt stuck in my eyeball. A neon arrow pointing at the fuckup. When I see images like this I:

1. feel bad for the photographer;
2. feel bad for the subject;
3. feel like someone, somewhere, is a dumbass.

Doesn’t anyone look at these fucking pictures before they go to press?

Fashion designers, art directors, and yes, even we photographers are often trying to be fantastical and aspirational, not necessarily realistic — but when they make clumsy mistakes, completely miss the mark, and end up making people look like mutants, I get to make fun.

Lee Boyd Malvo, John Allen Muhammad (born December 31, 1960) is a spree killer from the United States. With his younger partner, Lee Boyd Malvo, he carried out the 2002 Beltway sniper attacks, killing 10 people. Muhammad and Malvo were arrested in connection with the attacks on October 24, 2002, following tips from alert citizens. Born John Allen Williams, Muhammad joined the Nation of Islam in 1987 and later changed his surname to Muhammad. Drawings by Malvo describe the murders as part of a “jihad” (Arabic for “struggle”). At Muhammad’s trial, the prosecutor claimed that the rampage was part of a plot to kill his ex-wife and regain custody of his children, but the judge ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support this argument.

His trial for one of the murders (the murder of Dean Harold Meyers in Prince William County, Virginia) began in October 2003, and the following month, he was found guilty of capital murder. Four months later he was sentenced to death. While awaiting execution in Virginia, in August 2005, he was extradited to Maryland to face some of the charges there, for which he was convicted of six counts of first-degree murder on May 30, 2006. Upon completion of the trial activity in Maryland, it was planned that he next be returned to Virginia’s death row unless some agreement is reached with another state or the District of Columbia seeking to try him. He has not been tried on additional charges in other Virginia jurisdictions, and faces potential trials in three other states and the District of Columbia involving other deaths and serious woundings. Some appeals had been made and rejected, but others remained pending.

New York Marathon Live 2009, Rinzin Dorji, 34, will take part in the ING New York Marathon representing Bhutan, for the first time in the world’s largest marathon 40th November 1. Rinzin Dorji said he was very nervous because this is your first time, and professional athletes from around the world are taking part in it.
Rinzin Dorji is participating in the marathon through a private sponsor, Mr. Ynaar.

BOC Secretary General, Karma Wangchuk, said that there are 15 federations in the country, and Rinzin Dorji is not associated with any of these. “Marathons enter Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation and since the marathon is run through a private sponsor, I have no comment.”

The one-day marathon organized by New York Road Runners. The winner will receive more than $ 600,000. The riders will cover 26 miles, which is nearly 42 km.

Latest News Updated, Leaked Video Game Footage Shows Terrorist Attack: Footage leaked from “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2″ reveals that players of the upcoming video game can shoot innocent civilians in an airport in a realistic rendering of a terrorist attack.
The game, which has an “M” rating for mature audiences, comes out next month in what its publisher hopes may be the most lucrative launch in the history of entertainment, not just for games but counting music and movies too.

In a statement, game publisher Activision Blizzard Inc. said Wednesday the footage was taken illegally and is not representative of the game’s overall experience. Instead, the scene is designed to evoke the “atrocities of terrorism,” Activision said in an e-mailed statement.

The game follows players as they “face off against a terrorist threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse,” the Santa Monica, Calif. company said. This includes a plot line in which the player infiltrates a Russian villain’s inner circle to defeat him. Presumably the airport attack is one of the scenes in which the player acts as part of the villain’s group.

In an interview before the footage was leaked, Vince Zampella, head of the game’s developer, Infinity Ward, said studio intended for its game to startle players.

“We push the story,” he said. “We want the player to be emotionally attached. We want them to be emotionally shocked.”

Gamers are warned that the scene may be disturbing, and they can choose not to play through the part. It’s unclear, though, how many gamers will heed the warning for fear of missing part of the game’s intricate story. Activision says the game is designed so the part can be skipped over without losing any of the story.

The game’s makers said before the leak that they strive for “real world” authenticity in weapon types, military tactics and locations, but the plot is more James Bond action movie than ripped-from-the-headlines.

“As far as the story goes, Makarov is this super villain and you are this task force,” Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling said in a recent interview. “And it’s good versus evil. So we really like to be cinematic but also not let that ruin the fun.”
