Ufc 106 Results, Ufc 106 Live Stream Free: latest news aboout, In a rematch of their memorable 2006 fight in Anaheim, former UFC light-heavyweight champions Tito Ortiz of Huntington Beach and Forrest Griffin of Las Vegas renewed acquaintances in Ortiz’s UFC comeback fight following a contract split last year.
Griffin dominated the third and final round, blitzing Ortiz with hard rights to the face and combinations that included hard shots to the body and tough kicks to the left leg. Ortiz was cut under the left eye in the round and sustained some good combinations.
The judges saw it like this: split-decision win for Griffin.
Ortiz, as usual, had a memorable ring entrance with Eminem blaring at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, waving the American flag.
First round:
Ortiz takes a right standing up, but charges and lands a right. Ortiz takes down Griffin and tries to ground and pound with some elbows flying. Griffin gets up, the pair end up reversing each other against the cage.
Griffin kicks Ortiz in the left leg, like he did against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Griffin hits Ortiz with a right-left combo punch to face. Ortiz misses a takedown. Both guys jab.
I give the round to Griffin.
Second round:
Ortiz takes down Griffin, smacks him with elbows. Griffin gets back up. Griffin kicks Ortiz in the mouth, knocking out Tito’s mouthpiece. Tito takes down Griffin again, Griffin playing defense on ground versus former CIF champion wrestler.
Ortiz sends some elbows and fists to Griffin’s face on the mat. Griffin’s cut under the left eye, and now has a nasty cut at the right eye. Gushing everywhere. Griffin reverses Ortiz, trying to win round. Some pushing post-bell.
I give the round to Ortiz.

The co-main event, a welterweight clash pitting San Jose fighters Anthony Johnson and Josh Koscheck, will put the winner in prime position for a title shot at champion Georges St-Pierre.
Koscheck initially got the better of stand-up striking exchanges before Johnson popped in two jabs. Johnson slipped a clench, but then committed a rule-breaking violation by sending a right knee toward Koscheck’s head.
Kneeing on the mat, Koscheck appeared to have got his arm up in time to deflect the blow toward his right eye. Referee Mario Yamasaki stopped the action and deducted a point from Johnson for the illegal knee. A ringside doctor was summoned and reported to the ref that Koscheck had “blurry vision as a result of the foul.”
Still, the fight resumed and Koscheck turned to wrestling. Johnson was seen with a small cut over the left eye.
In the second round, Johnson was poked in the left eye twice in the first minutes. Both fighters had a lively exchange of blows in the center of the octagon. Koscheck got Johnson on his back and sent a few damaging elbows to the 25-year-old’s head.

The Haunted Preston Castle
The Haunted Preston Castle: HPI Chronicles: The Haunted Preston Castle, The Ione Hotel, CJs and a Private Residence By Paul Dale Roberts, HPI Ghostwriter.
Jennifer S, a HPI Ghosthunter-in-Training came all the way from San Jose to my home to do some ghosthunting on this super hot Saturday – May 17, 2008. The ghosthunting we will do, will happen in the small town of Ione. Jennifer was very enthusiastic and didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t have a hard time persuading her to get in my vehicle, the Ghost Tracker. I turned up the tunes…Shotgun by Jr. Walker and the All Stars and headed down the lonely stretch of highway towards Ione. Our first stop was the Ione Hotel. We introduced ourselves to Jennifer Leigh Collado. Jennifer Collado is the hotel manager and head housekeeper. Jennifer with her little girl charm was willing to take us on a grand tour of the hotel. She explains that the hotel was built in 1877. She has worked here since Feb 08 and loves her job! The short time that she has worked here, she has already experienced strange things. Once she was locked in Room 2. She heard the door click behind her and after twisting the door knob a few times, she knew she was trapped in this room. The hotel staff below came running up the stairs to help her and no one could get the door open. She was trapped in this room for 2 hours, finally she had to go out the window. Once, while walking down the hallway, the lights would either get dimmer or brighter and seemed to follow her down the hallway. She has seen shadowy figures run past her. In Room 4, the chandeliers spun around on their own accord.
She has heard stories from guests. One guest claims they saw a smoky haze encircle one of the pillars. Jennifer gleefully shows me some strange photos she took of herself in the hallway mirror. The image shows her face distorted, while below her is a strange mist that almost looks like a smear. There were two photos that depicts the mist image near her face and the third picture is normal. While I am interviewing Jennifer Collado, Jennifer S is taking photographs all over the hotel. Jennifer S captured some orb activity in her photos. One orb looks blue in color. Jennifer Collado explains to me that the hotel caught on fire in 1884 and 1893. George Williams a guest of the hotel died in one of the fires at the hotel and some patrons believe that George still patrols the hallways of the hotel. George was known as a lady’s man and jokester. Another victim of the fire was the baby of Mary Phelps (another patron). Mary caught on fire and was screaming for her baby to be saved. Jennifer Collado opened up some of the rooms for us and in Room 13, she showed us the infamous ‘upside down black rose’ that is on the wall. They have tried to wash the upside down rose off and it still appears on the wall. Room 13 is a strange room and Jennifer Collado has felt something odd in this room. Jennifer Collado tells me how two guests in one room, both woke up and found themselves speaking in a strange language. Jennifer Collado feels like she can sense paranormal activity on a more heightened level, which probably makes her an empath. It was a pleasure interviewing Jennifer Collado, because she really does have a little girl quality and she explains how she loves to slide in her socks on the hard wood floor of the hotel. She even gave us a small demonstration. Jennifer S and I, finished up with our preliminary scouting investigation of the Ione Hotel and headed up the street to the Amador County Library. We couldn’t get inside, but I would love to check this old building out, for any signs of past residual energy. Jennifer S and I, were now parched and decided to inhale some sodas at the Pizza Factory before making our next move.
After we quenched our thirst, we headed over to the Preston Castle. We met up with Marie Nutting – President of the Preston Castle Foundation. All I can say is….’wow!’ I can see why this place looks like a castle. Check out some of the photos here:
http://ghosts.meetup.com/231/photos/
Marie explains that this was the first correctional youth facility in California. The place does look like a castle! I have seen many castles in Europe and this structure was quite impressive and can be compared to some European castles. It was built in 1894. Some people think that this castle has about 3 or 4 ghosts residing inside. One of the stories, is that an employee was kicked to death by an inmate during the 50s. Her ghost may be one of the resident ghosts. Many inmates have died here and not too far away is an inmate cemetery with about 23 graves. Many people have felt strange things when entering this castle. Many people also say they feel cold spots. The inmates while staying here, were referred to as the wards of the State. The castle staff members also resided in this castle. So, you would have the wards of the State staying on one end, while the staff members stayed on another end. Jennifer S. snapped all kinds of photos inside and captured a green orb inside the premises. As I was leaving Preston Castle, I did an illegal U-Turn and Ione’s Finest pulled me over. I always get stopped in these small towns. The officer, a very friendly guy explained what I did and how it was illegal. Then I explained how I was a journalist that was writing a story about the Ione Hotel and Preston Castle. He listened to some of my paranormal stories and did a bit of chuckling. I gave him my business card and told him if he ever witnessed anything paranormal to give me a call. He finally looked at me and said, I am going to give you a warning this time and letting you go! Whew! Close call! What a nice guy!

Cristina Warthen, Cristina Warthen
36-year-old Cristina Warthen turned into a call girl! In order to pay her bills and student loans, Cristina Warthen aka Cristina Schultz a Stanford Law School graduate co-founded Ask.com, sentenced to home detention for tax evasion on Monday. Cristina ran an escort service and offered “companionship” for $2,000 a night.
The federal prosecutors have briefed in their report that to advertise her services as a call girl “Brazil,” Cristina Warthen was maintaining a Website called “Touchofbrazil.net,” soon after she got her law degree from Stanford in May 2001. Cristina Warthen used to post maximum erotic pictures of herself in order to arouse sex appeal and attract the ‘clients’ who would contact her directly. Eventually in the year 2003, she pleaded guilty, failing to pay taxes on more than $133,000 ‘income’ as a prostitute.
The authorities informed that Christina “engaged in sexual acts in return for money” in the year 2001 and grossed $133,717 in 2003 but failed in paying $25,424, in taxes.
In a U.S. District Court in San Jose during a hearing on Monday, Judge James Ware ordered the imposition of one year home detention on Cristina Warthen also known as Cristina Schultz. She is liable to pay $243,000 in back taxes, fines and restitution to the government. To ensure she abides by the restrictions imposed upon her, the services of an electronic monitoring device were also acquired as the punishment includes restriction on her advertising as an escort while on probation.
Brain Gets Christina’s attorney, responded to persecution’s recommendations and the final punishment saying, “the entire prosecution was ill-advised and selective.” After all, she sold her services only to pay off her Stanford Law School debts.
Whereas the judge concluded to impose restrictions on Christina on disclosure of her continuing advertising on the internet as an expensive escort while she awaited sentencing on charges of federal tax evasion, by the federal prosecutors. Now according to the plea deal with government, she is under 3-year-probation and liable to pay a total of approximately $243,000 to the government. The actual amount was $313,000 but federal prosecutors agreed to $243,000 as Christina couldn’t pay more.
She was married to David Warthen who is the co-founder of online search engine Ask Jeeves, now called Ask.com. In 2006, David filed the divorce on grounds “irreconcilable differences.”

Adobe Omniture
NEW YORK: Adobe Systems went shopping on Tuesday. And it came home with a pricey find. The software company said it is buying Web analytics firm Omniture for about $1.8 billion in an effort to make itself more competitive in the world of online commerce.

The maker Photoshop and Acrobat products said it will offer Omniture $21.50 per share in cash. That’s a 24% premium to Omniture’s Tuesday closing price of $17.32 per share. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Adobe’s fiscal year.
Omniture (OMTR), which is based in Orem, Utah, helps clients understand how visitors traffic their Web sites and assists online businesses to target advertisements.
Adobe, which is based in San Jose, Calif. said the deal will help it “transform” e-commerce by combining its content creation tools with Omniture’s online measurement and optimization technologies to help “increase the value Adobe delivers to customers.”
“This is a game changer for Adobe and its customers,” said Shantanu Narayen, chief executive of Adobe, in a statement. “We will enable advertisers, media companies and e-tailers to realize the full value of their digital assets.”
Adobe said Omniture will become a new business unit within the company and that Josh James, Omniture’s chief executive, will be put in charge of it as a senior vice president.
James said the combination of the two companies will allow for new strategies to improve “content engagement, advertising effectiveness and the overall user experience.” That, he added, “will drive more advertising dollars online.”
Trip Chowdhry, managing director of equity research at Global Equities Research, agreed that the acquisition is a “smart move” on Adobe’s part because it may help offset declining revenues from the company’s Creative Suite of software. However, he believes Adobe overpaid for Omniture because the company is losing market share to rival Google Analytics.
Also on Tuesday Adobe reported that it earned $136 million, or 26 cents per share, in the quarter ended Aug. 28. That’s down from net income of $191.6 million, or 36 cents per share, a year ago.
Excluding certain items, Adobe said it earned 35 cents per share. Analysts surveyed by Thomson had forecast earnings per share of 34 cents.
