Shilpa Shetty Copies Aishwarya On her Wedding Day

MUMBAI, News Update: Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty, who recently tied the knot with her NRI beau Raj Kundra, looked stunning in a red designer lehenga-saree on her wedding day. But, a look at her reminded one of Aishwarya Rai’s.
From the jewellery to the hairdo, Shilpa looked similar to Ash in all respects. While it was designer Neeta Lulla for Aishwarya on her D-Day, Shilpa Shetty zeroed in on her good friend Tarun Tahiliani. Ash adorned with Kundan jewellery had worn a golden saree on her wedding day. Shilpa too sported Kundan jewellery to go with her bright red saree. Similarities or no similarities, both the brides looked their best.

Mumbai News update: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty tied the nuptial knot with long-time beau Raj Kundra here on November 22 in a glittering wedding ceremony.

The occasion was attended by several Bollywood fraternities. The reception will be held in London.

Shilpa Shetty Plans a Grand and Lavish Sangeet

Shilpa Shetty’s wedding preparations have kicked off by a private engagement party but Sangeet, she assures would be a lavish affair at Khandala.

She has zeroed in on friend-choreographer Ganesh Hegde for choreographing everyone’s dance movies for a perfect sangeet on November 21 which is just a day before her wedding.

Ganesh Hegde confirmed the news saying, “The sangeet is not a professional thing for me. I am related to Shilpa. We are keeping this as personal as possible and haven’t involved any professional dancers. We’re planning something cute where all the family members pay tribute to each other. Raj’s younger brother is extremely enthusiastic about it. Raj’s family members will be coming down from London.”

Commenting on the sangeet’s theme, Ganesh adds, “There’s no singular theme, but yes, we will explore and celebrate that Shilpa, who is from a South Indian (Bunt) family, is marrying Raj, who is a Punjabi. We’ll have a good mix of South Indian and Punjabi style dance and music.”

About Shilpa and Raj’s special number, Ganesh says, “They will be dancing together on a lovely romantic number. We haven’t finalised the song yet but it will definitely be one of Shilpa’s own numbers. Apart from Shilpa’s own songs, there will be some high-tempo numbers too. The guests won’t dress in special costumes for their performances as they will anyway be dressed in their finery.”

Is there a special bit about the ceremony that will be a surprise for the couple, we ask Ganesh. “Not really,” he says. “We all will be rehearsing together so planning a surprise will be difficult… Shilpa is aware and very much part of everything we have planned. We will start the rehearsals very soon.

Shilpa Shetty’s fiance wants to take his baraat to Shilpa’s home in a unique way, instead of riding a decked up horse ,he will arrive with the baratis in a chariot.

Shila-Raj have decided to tie the knot on November 22nd and Shilpa’s close buddy says, “Tarun Tahiliani has designed a wedding outfit that no bride in Bollywood or outside has ever worn before.”

“Shilpa’s mom consulted the astrological documents and found that the next auspicious date was not before April 2010. Shilpa’s first response was, ‘Not without my sister.’ But now that Shamita is well on the way out of Bigg Boss Shilpa doesn’t mind the rush, though she would be shooting until the very last moment for the Indo-Chinese production Desire in Hyderabad.”

Shilpa on her recently wrote on her blog, “To all those who want to know how I am feeling, I just want to say I’m going through a lot of mixed feelings – happiness, excitement, nervousness, just like any bride to be and sadness as well.”

Shilpa-Raj wedding will be a traditional Mangalorean event.

Sultry actress Shilpa Shetty will get engaged to her long time boyfriend industrialist Raj Kundra tomorrow.

A source reveals,”The engagement ceremony will be a simple and private one held at Raj’s 7th floor flat in Juhu. It’s very hush-hush and only close family and friends will attend. Shilpa and her family have decided to go ahead with engagement date after much deliberation and consultation with family astrologers, including her mother Sunanda.”

Shilpa apparently was a bit reluctant to get engaged without sister Shamita, who is in Bigg Boss house, . “Shilpa was keen that Shamita too be a part of such a special event in her life but the time is extremely auspicious. Finally, she gave in to the pressure,” says the source.

Shilpa will be wearing a Manish Malhotra saree for her engagement, “The saree is simple with no embellishments like crystals or zari work, but a thin gold border. The choli is vintage and in different shades of gold with gold tassels. The saree has been deliberately kept simple as Shilpa will be wearing heavy rubies, diamonds and emeralds in ornaments designed by Anmol Jewellers,” the source adds.
