A number of famous masters have meditated in caves near the monastery on: Guru Rinpoche in his manifestation of Dorje Drollo pondered Kagy cycle. After him, many great masters followed, among them Milarepa, Padampa Sangye, Machik Thangtong Lapdrön and Gyalpo.
Some Bhutanese army troops stood guard at the entrance to registration of visitors and to ensure that no bag or the camera is made in the sacred monastery.
